On behalf of the American Red Cross (ARC), we are establishing a list of
Humboldt hams who can respond to a request for service. Job assignments
are not established, but will typically involve radio communications at a
shelter or other ARC sites. We are looking primarily for hams who can
operate VHF and/or HF from their mobile (vehicle) station or a portable
station setup in or near the ARC operation. Digital capability is
especially useful (i.e. FLMG and Winlink.) There may be limited
opportunity for handheld-only stations.

There is currently no call to mobilize hams in Humboldt County. We are
establishing a list for possible future activation.

If you are interested in being on the ARC standby list, please reply to me
at *pesko at suddenlink.net <pesko at suddenlink.net>* and include the following
information:

Name, call sign, FCC license class and home location (e.g. Eureka, Fortuna,
etc.)
Radio capabilities: Mobile/portable; VHF/HF; power output; voice/digital.
Days of the week you'd be likely to be available.

Thank you very much. Please let me know if you have any questions.
