[Harc] The HEX party at Jaye's qth

After a rotator failure (boo RCA!),  Carl & friend brought down my hex
beam few weeks ago.  I spent time carefully sanding all the (very
dangerous) fiberglass spreader poles.  18 of them.  Then primed and
painted them with high gloss paint.  New rotator and new 'push-up' mast.

Thursday afternoon, the party began.  Tim kn6ono first started the
reassembly of the antenna.  Soon the whole crew showed up.  Carl km6liq
was the foreman who did the mast adapter work that connects the antenna
base to the rotator (good work Carl!).  Randy kn6nsk, Scott ke6wli, Kai
n6zzo (and Jr along for the adventure) all lent hands moving the beam
and getting everything into place as will as manning the three guy lines.

We stopped to enjoy much needed pizza/beer/soda/water and SHADE.  Who
would have guessed the day would be so sunny & hot!

Finally, the old mast was removed, new mast readied and final
connections made.  Kai used his micro vna to sweep the bands while
antenna was only 8' up, all good!  Then the final raising and
orientation before all the clamps and guys were tightened down.

Some of the folks stuck around to see a short demonstration of the whole
system and my very messy radio shack :)

Only 3 slices of pizza left and 4 beers .. We did good!

Lastly, many of my amazing friends had never met before.  I heard lots
of "so NOW I have a face to the voice" comments!

We took more time than was needed.  Some of the spreaders had been
reversed, but discovered before it went onto the mast.  With this crew,
it was easy to move things up/down without anyone struggling to handle
the ungainly beam.

Thanks for all your help guys.  Was a joy to share some fun and enjoy a
really cool learning experience.
