Hello HARC Members -

We are looking for about 20 volunteers for Saturday October 15, 2022 for an
event at Bear River called Taco Fest. The Bear River Casino has agreed to
pay for the replacement of the Rainbow Ridge repeater for our assistance at
the event *($3,500 value)*.
Volunteers will be in charge of guiding guests into the proper parking
areas during the event and ensuring traffic flows smoothly. The
property is developed and well paved but there is some off street parking
in the fields. The event will be in the main parking lot by the casino and
they will be running shuttle vans from the parking area to the event. Our
job as volunteers won't be difficult. There will be about 3 or 4 locations
we will be covering and we will have communications (commercial band
radios) to communicate between areas. We are approved by the HARC board to
participate in this event. Volunteers from ALL local CERT teams are also
approved by their sponsors to participate. I would like to think we won't
have too much difficulty getting enough people between all the groups.

I just met with the event management this past Friday and discussed their
plans. Once you have signed up, I will be happy to share the specifics
with you and find the location assignment that works best for your comfort
zone. The property is laid out well enough that you will be able to keep
your vehicle within distance of your assigned location (in most cases). We
will be bringing up a CERT trailer to use as a break area and home base. I
am also planning to have some snacks, beverages and possibly some pizza for
volunteers. There will hopefully be plenty of volunteers so that if anyone
needs a break for whatever reason that should not be an issue.

If you can volunteer for the whole event, that would be great. If you can
just volunteer for the first half (four hours) that works too. I suspect
we won't all be needed at the end of the event but I will have more
timeline specifics as we move forward.

This is a great opportunity to develop a working relationship with the Bear
River folks and get some exposure as well (and get a solid repeater on
Rainbow Ridge). I suspect this event/donation will lead to bigger and
better things for us all!

If you can volunteer, please email, text or call me. My cell is
707-599-6500. Afternoons are the best time to catch me. You can text or
email anytime.

Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you!
