Operational Area Partners, 

The Humboldt County Office of Emergency Services (OES) is now hiring for a Program Coordinator focused on hazard mitigation. We are seeking a motivated individual to assist the county in implementing and prioritizing projects identified in the Humboldt County Operational Area Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP), seek and secure grant funding, and participate in the update/revision process of our HMP. This position will be responsible for coordinating the following, in addition to other duties: 
• Analyzing Humboldt County's hazard risk profile and identifying/prioritizing mitigation projects with other county departments and jurisdictions within the County of Humboldt. 
• Monitoring the availability of Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) funding, identifying local funding match opportunities and applying form HMGP funding for appropriate projects. 
• Conducting multijurisdictional hazard risk assessments, engaging in outreach efforts to inform partners and community members of Humboldt County's hazard profile as well as preparedness and mitigation strategies to minimize individual and jurisdictional risk. 
• Providing routine reports to departmental and county leadership on the status of mitigation projects, funding opportunities and areas of heightened concern.
