Hello all,

Here is a draft agenda for our next monthly meeting on Tuesday, December 
3rd at 7:00 at the 3030 L st, Eureka location.

I've had a busy week with family visiting and have not put a lot of 
thought into this DRAFT agenda. If there is anything you'd like to add 
or correct for this agenda please get back to me before 12:00 on Tuesday 
the 3rd.

We will be holding our election for HARC officers at this meeting. Only 
active members with current dues paid for the 2025 year will be eligible 
to vote. Our current active member roster totals 35 individuals. The 
quorum needed for us to elect new board members is 11 active members. We 
will need 11 HARC members present for this meeting to vote. Please try 
to make the meeting so we do not have to figure out how to vote by email 
or wait till January to vote for new board members.

Regarding nominations for the HARC board: I will be happy to serve as 
president for another term. I feel like I am still figuring things out 
and would like to make a little more progress. I'd also like to nominate 
Gene K6PCS as vice-president, Fiday W6FRI as secretary and Richard KN6RK 
as treasurer. If anyone has other folks they'd like to nominate please 
get back to me by 12:00 on Tuesday so I can add those names to the 
agenda.

Hello all,

Here is the agenda for tomorrow's monthly meeting at 7:00 at the 3030 L 
st, Eureka location.

HARC votes in new board members in December and we will try to do this 
at this meeting. Currently a quorum stands at 16 active members. 
(Membership standing is tied to dues being paid for the current fiscal 
year of 2025.) If due to a lack of a quorum we can not vote in new board 
members at the meeting we will need to continue the voting by email. If 
you know already that you will not be able to attend the meeting in 
person or via Zoom feel free to vote anytime between now and the the 
17th of December. We should be able to collect the votes of at least 16 
active members by then.

Our current slate of nominees are:

Friday Ululani W6FRI for Secretary
Richard Kern KN6RK for Treasurer
Gene Bass K6PCS for Vice Precident
Randy Terra KN6NSK for President

If anyone would like to nominate someone else for one of these positions 
or would like to hold one of these positions themselves, please speak up 
by the time of the meeting tomorrow. Again, if you want to cast your 
vote via email go ahead. Also remember that only active dues paying 
members can vote and we do still have a few members who routinely 
participate in club activities who are not current on their dues. I will 
try to reach out to those members.

Sorry for the late notice. On Skywarn Recognition Day ham stations at NWS offices are on the air trying to contact other NWS offices around the country. Our office at Woodley Island will be participating with their Kenwood TS-2000. Expereiced operators are invited to sign up for a shift; those without experience on the NWS station can sign up to work with an experienced operator.

Shifts will be two hours long, starting at 4:00 pm Friday, Dec 7 and ending Saturday, Dec 8 at 4:00 pm. Please email me with your preferred time, and I will let you know. You may want to pick a couple of options. I'll be there Saturday 12:00-2:00 pm. Ed Swafford KN6GZS, NWS will be there at 4:00 today for the first shift(s), if you need help with the radio.

It is forecast 70 percent chance of rain tomorrow. Dry on Sunday. A few have mentioned they are willing to go on Sunday. Let's plan on Sunday. The access road will be slick and most likely require 4 wheel drive on that one hill. I have lots of equipment I carry and will need to transfer my stuff to another vehicle. 8:00 am at Adel's Sunday.

We visited the Rainbow Ridge 146.91 repeater on Sunday the 8th. We found the transmission line inside the building between the repeater and the lightning arrester to be defective. This was replaced and the system tested much better. There was some noise on received signals that is indicative of loose connections inside the antenna. This can happen when it is windy. It was windy the entire time we were on site. Randy also improved the security of the transmission line on the tower.

We unexpectedly lost a ham recently.
Todd Barton KF6KBX passed away.  Todd lived in Garberville and also
served as a volunteer fire fighter.
