On Saturday August 29th at 10:00 we will have a W6ZZK station up and running at US-1162 Humboldt Lagoons State Park. This will be a drop in activity and all are welcome to stop by and make some activation contacts. We will likely have a SSB and CW station going at the same time. As Jacob KO6JNQ may have described this, think of this as a mini Field Day activity. It is great to take your gear out to a beautiful location and operate under different conditions than your home QTH. To get there, take 101 north or south to the Stone Lagoon parking area. This is the parking area just north of Stone Lagoon (41.258, -124.098.) This is about a 45-50 minute drive north of Eureka. ( If this activation seems to be of interest, we can plan for a POTA activation at a site closer to most of our members in the future.) Stay as long as you like. We will probably start to wrap things up around 14:00. Bring something appropriate for the weather and snacks/water of course.
