FAR WEST REPEATER ASSOCIATION MEETING JULY 17, 2019



 Meeting conducted over the air using the Far West system. Meeting called to order by President Bernie Christen, WA6HZG. Additional Board members, officers and members present – Peter Esko W6IES, Treasurer Greg Deja, and Secretary Don Campbell, KE6HEC, Jack Foster, KM6TE – SHARC-and Jaye Inabnit, KE6SLS.



SECRETARY’S REPORT 

The minutes from the April 20 meeting were distributed via email. It was requested that, in the future, call signs be added to the list of board members.



TREASURER’S REPORT

Greg reported $2926.68 in checking, $1121.57 in savings, in addition to $30.00 in dues and a PG&E bill that were not on the statement.



COMMUNICATIONS

There were no communications.



COMMITTEE REPORTS

There were no committee reports.



OLD BUSINESS

Board of Directors Vacancies

There is one vacancy on the board.

 As of July 17, 2019, directors, their offices as appropriate and their affiliations are:

Chairperson - Bernie Christen WA6HZG, FWRA

Treasurer – Greg Deja AA6GD, FWRA

Secretary – Don Campbell KE6HEC, RARC

Peter Esko W6IES, FWRA

Kirby Bay KE6ZPF, RARC

Jack Foster KM6TE, SHARC

Vacant – SHARC

Additionally, Don Nelson, WA6NBG is our Webmaster.



Repeater System

System maintenance to be performed prior to winter was discussed.



Pratt

Jack is installing brackets to seismically secure the repeater. Brackets for the floor and lightning protection is needed. A motion to approve funding as necessary was approved. A copy of the license for the repeater was also needed.



Horse

Jaye has noticed an issue with the timeout timer on Horse, possibly on the link.

The support for the feedline needs to be repaired. A picture is attached below.









Pierce

The batteries providing backup power need to be checked and replaced if necessary. This will probably require 2 trips to Pierce – Bernie will coordinate.



Humboldt Hill

Jaye would like to pursue the installation of equipment for a digital mode using the same antenna as the 146.700.







NEW BUSINESS

The next Board meeting will be September 8 at the picnic.
