For this year's ARRL Field Day, it seems that HARC will not be
participating in a centrally-organized effort. Members may gather
locally in informal groups (such as Kevin/KK6MPT's invitation to join
him at the Samoa Boat Ramp), visit other club efforts in neighboring
counties, or operate independently. If you do choose to participate as
an individual, in addition to your personal call sign, you may also
designate the "Humboldt Amateur Radio Club" for your QSO's to count
towards a club total (Do not use club initials--spell it out).
Last January, for Winter Field Day, Anthony and Ben published the
following frequency recommendations as a starting point for collecting
those QSO's. They seem like they are still relevant for the upcoming
Field Day on June 26-27. I think they are especially helpful for
Technicians who wish to participate in Field Day.
I plan to operate as an individual. Hope to hear you on the air.

NOTE: When you're trying for Digital contacts a technique called
"PreTone" is used. On the top right side of FLDigi is a "Tune" button.
"Press" it for a period of about one second, once or twice, to allow
"listeners" to know somebody is about to transmit. It also alerts
people who might want to transmit that someone else is about to.
