I met w/Jerrett Smith KF6RZO at Gene’s old QTH this afternoon and wanted to pass on that Gene is on hospice care at the Timber Ridge facility in Eureka. I’m not sure if he is visitable, but give them a call 707-443-3000.

Jerrett is down from WA doing a bit of salvage for the next couple or 3 days before a crew arrives to prep what’s left of the house and the rest of the property to put it on the market.

Gene has A LOT of old (60’s) test equipment and odds and ends in the garage. Signal generators, frequency meters. Most of it state of the art when it was new and Gene had his shop. Parts of an old rack mount repeater including 3 cavities are there for the taking. All will take a lot of TLC to be usable, but worth a shot if you’re so inclined. 

This is really hard work for anyone left behind, so anything we can do will be appreciated, even if it’s only hanging out w/Jerrett and helping sort for a while.
