Communicators are needed for the 2022 Trinidad Clam Beach Run, Saturday January 29, 2022. The run begins at 1230 in Trinidad at Saunders Park (adjacent to the Chevron Station) and proceeds South along Scenic Drive to Moonstone Beach, crossing little River and continuing South along the beach and finishing at Clam Beach. Net Control will operate from the Trinidad Fire Department next door to the Trinidad Town Hall. We will be using the Far West Repeater System as well as a simplex frequency of 146.430 MHz for the event. Communicators will be needed in Trinidad at the Start Line and Town Hall area and at various locations along the course. A map of the course and information about the event are attached. Details from the Event Coordinator Melanie Ward are below. Plan to meet at Niveen’s Restaurant, 2145 Central Avenue in McKinleyville, at 1000 for breakfast and a coordination meeting in the restaurant parking lot at 1115 prior to deploying to the event. See you Saturday and please bring a safety vest and your mask! Give me a call if you have any questions – 707 834-0042.

Hi Don!

Just checking in about the race coming up this Saturday the 29th. I wanted to give you a little recap really quickly. I will be sending out the official race schedule Thursday night, but wanted to fill you in before then in case any meetings on your end are happening this week.

Race in a nutshell:

ONE RACE ONLY this year the 5 3/4 mile, starting at Saunder's park (nothing north of Trinidad proper is happening this year. Only one additional water/aid station at Moonstone beach, plus the start and finish lines. If we could assign one of your team to be the follow car behind the last runner to notify where the end of the race is at any given time, that would be great!

9am registration at town hall beginis

11 rope is placed at little river

NOON traffic control is in place

12:30pm race starts

12:45 first runners at the river

1:00 first runners at the finish line

Shuttle starts running back to town hall (one loop only this year: beach-town)

3:30 bulk of runners finished.

4:30 race done/last shuttle.

Hopefully this all makes sense to you!! We have a HumCo Sheriff search and rescue team helping this year with traffic control which is awesome! We always can use extra eyes and ears out there, and we appreciate all that you do for our race!!
