This ‘cast is a great reminder.

Batteries: I check my spares quarterly to be sure they haven’t died or dropped too far. And I always unload alkaline batteries after each use because if their leakage potential. 

Cheat sheets: I had to make these for all of my VHF/UHF radios soon after I acquired them in the early 00’s (the dawn of the Menu Age). I edit them occasionally as my operating needs change. 

I also use programming software for 3 of them, BUT that’s only good if your computer has power…..
