Good morning, per our conversation Id be glad to install service and maintain it as needed and got it for the community. I dont charge for access and just want it to be available to the community to any licensed GMRS user that abides by the FCC rules.  I know Gene Bass is working on one for eureka and one for trinadad.  and eventualy I would like to make up a second setup, for another location or maybe portable use or events.  feel free to conact me with any questions or concerns Thanks Dennis W6LWB (or WRVC311)707-298-7184

The Vertex VXR7000 Desktop repeater does not require much ac power even when its in use as its only 50Watts max and not require much space and can be placed on a small shelf. the 12v backup power system is minimal and I could work on a small solar panel and charger and a lipo battery for it to be seperate then other power back ups if needed. Right now its in my RV and runs on ac and its RV battery for backup. Im also upgrading my Home solar soon to include some new panels and backup batterys for the whole house that supplies the power to my RV. https://www.aircomm.com/downloads/motorola/vertex_vxr7000_specsheet.pdf

Hi Dennis,

I am interested in meeting with you to discuss and understand more. I am curious about power consumption. But I think something can work out. City Hall has a very robust power backup system for the whole building, including batteries and a natural gas generator connected to the grid. City Hall also has a small tower.

Unfortunately I am in Redding on Friday for City Business. If you give me your number I can try to give you a call when the meeting gets out roughly around 1:30pm or we can scheduled for Monday the 31st  which is open for me.

Look forward to hearing from you,

I wanted to see if your avail to chat with on Friday about my GMRS repeater that I have up and running in Rio Dell, been working on the Equipment and setup for over a year and got it up and running in early January Its main purpose is for emergency and Cert teams with Family communications as well from my place in the Bluff estates as they call it, it has a small coverage area at the moment and I built it to work in a High RF environment with a professional Commercial radio (Vertex made by Yeasu) morse code ID (our GMRS FCC call sign, WRVC311) High quality Notch filters for the receive and transmit frequencies and coax and antenna. Its set up with backup power but am planning on installing it up at a repeater site in the near future. Right now it covers Rio Dell,Scotia,Ferndale and parts of Fortuna including Fortuna High school, And my son can hit it with a small Gmrs HT from Fortuna high and I Have hit it as far as bear river gas station. Gene with Humboldt bay fire has also been working on one that is getting installed on the water tower next to the boys and girls club and should be up for testing in the next mo from what I have heard. I have been in contact with Cal fire and William with communications has installed a few GRMS mobiles in his and one or 2 of the Cal Fire trucks. and I hear we have a Certs member at the Rio Dell fire but I cant recall her name. once it gets Relocated up high it should cover 25-30 miles from the repeater. The nice thing about the GMRS license is that its easy to get compared to the Ham radio License with a 35$ fee good for 10 years and it covers anyone in your household. There has been Issues with Ham radio in the past after an Earthquake as some of those sites have gone Down and don't have good backup power when its needed, Gene with Humboldt bay fire is on the board of the Humboldt Amateur Radio club and I know Cal Fire will be moving down to Rio Dell soon. let me know if you have time on Friday or if we could meet some other time to chat as I think this would be a great resource to our community- Again Thanks for your time Dennis
