Hello David, I’m KN6FGU Frank, in McKinleyville.
and I enjoyed the informative talk by Dr. Fong last Thursday night. I’ve spoken to him previously, and
I’ve had a DBJ-1 deployed for 8 months. In every way I can measure, it performs as well as my 5/8 wave vertical ground plane (with radials) at far lower cost.

The PVC plastic conduit is available anywhere electrical wiring supplies are sold (Piersons, True Value Hardware, etc.) for about $2. There’s definitely some satisfaction in assembling the unit in its PVC tube. For sheer component portability and effectiveness, this is a great way to boost the performance of any HT.

I keep mine deployed atop a telescoping tripod Light-pole (or speaker- pole) on the patio through the summer months for extended HT coverage to all the local repeaters.

Now I’d like to purchase the dual band Roll-up kit -- DBJ-2. 1 @ $30.
For the HAM frequencies.
The included feed line extension needs to have a SMA Female on ONE end to fit to my Baofeng BF-F8 HT.
Other End, either UHF connector OK (SO 239 or PL 239).

Please let me know how to handle payment. I recall I used Pay Pal last time with Dr. Fong, but I can send a check, if preferred.
Thanks,
KN6FGU Frank

Subject: [Harc] Ed Fong Workshop Follow-up

As a follow-up top last evening's HARC workshop, Dr. Fong sent me a very basic spreadsheet top use to aggregate any orders we may want to make.  It didn't have any product info, just item number/name and cost as shown below.  Note that he is giving us a small price break if we aggregate orders through the club.
I am willing to serve as the collection point for orders, and forward them en masse  to Ed.  I could use suggestions about how to collect payments for the items, and for how long to wait for input before submitting our order.
More information on his antennas can be found on his website, Ed's Antennas
I hope you found the workshop useful.  I did.
